David Roden is a transformation expert, entrepreneur, and storyteller who has lived the very journey he now helps others navigate. By the age of 18, David weighed over 400 pounds, was pre-diabetic, and facing a future defined by poor health. Through grit, faith, and an unwavering commitment to change, he lost over 200 pounds — and, more importantly, has kept it off for more than a decade. His story isn’t just one of weight loss, but of creating systems, mindset, and communities that make lasting transformation possible.

Over the past decade, David has been coaching and building communities in the weight loss transformation space, reaching thousands of people and helping hundreds lose hundreds of pounds themselves. His work goes beyond individual coaching — he has developed ecosystems of support where people find the tools, accountability, and inspiration to achieve results they once thought were impossible.

As a social media influencer with over 150,000 combined followers, David has leveraged his platforms to share both his personal journey and practical education, making complex topics about health, fitness, and mindset accessible to a wide audience. His content blends credibility, vulnerability, and motivation — a balance that has attracted not only followers, but genuine transformation stories from those he’s inspired.

David is also the executive producer of the documentary The Anti-Diet Diet Club, which challenges myths about obesity and highlights real stories of change, alongside insights from leading experts. In addition, he co-hosts two podcasts:

  • 🎙️ YOÜR BEST SELF — focused on mindset, fitness, and inspirational transformation stories.

  • 🎙️ Vitals & Values: Concierge Medicine of West Michigan — bridging medicine, faith, and lifestyle with raw conversations on health and wellness.

Alongside his fiancée, Dr. Lara Baatenburg, David also plays a behind-the-scenes role in helping run the operations of Concierge Medicine of West Michigan, a concierge practice designed to bring personalized, faith-driven healthcare to their community.

As a TEDx speaker, podcast host, and entrepreneur, David continues to build communities, companies, and conversations that change lives. His mission is clear: to show that lasting transformation is possible, and to equip others with the tools, systems, and belief to make it their reality.

Press & Media Q&A

  • My own journey. By 18, I weighed over 400 pounds and was pre-diabetic. After losing 200 pounds and keeping it off for more than a decade, I realized the weight loss conversation is filled with myths, gimmicks, and shame. I wanted to tell real stories that inspire people while bringing in experts who can separate science from noise.

  • Most weight loss stories focus on a “before and after.” This film focuses on the middle — the struggles, setbacks, and systems that make long-term change possible. We also highlight the voices of people who collectively lost over 1,300 pounds, paired with leading doctors and nutrition experts who cut through misinformation.

  • Because diets don’t work long-term. The name is intentionally ironic — it’s not about another “diet,” it’s about rejecting diet culture altogether. It’s about creating sustainable health through mindset, lifestyle, and community.

  • The mental side. Anyone can follow a plan for 30 days, but shifting your mindset so that health becomes a lifestyle is the real challenge. Breaking old habits, facing emotional eating, and building new routines took more than willpower — it took community, accountability, and faith.

  • My faith gave me both purpose and perspective. Transformation wasn’t just about my body — it was about becoming the man I was created to be. Faith is what helped me push through the setbacks and keep my focus on serving others.

  • It was surreal. Standing on that red dot was more than a speaking engagement; it was the culmination of my journey. My talk, “The Real Reason People Struggle With Sustainable Weight Loss for Obesity,” was about shining a light on what truly keeps people stuck and giving them hope for real, lasting change.

  • Continuing to share my story on bigger stages, growing my businesses, and expanding the reach of The Anti-Diet Diet Club. My vision is to keep breaking down barriers around obesity, build platforms that help people transform, and show that health, business, and faith can intersect to create real impact.

  • Start small, and start now. Don’t wait for the perfect diet, the perfect workout, or the perfect timing — those things don’t exist. Focus on one small change you can do today, then stack those wins over time. That’s how real transformation happens.

Faith, Values, Character:

At the heart of everything I do, my cornerstone is Jesus. My faith is the foundation that not only fueled my personal transformation but continues to guide how I live, lead, and serve. My ultimate focus is on faith and family first, knowing that true success begins with the relationships and values that matter most. Every venture I build, every story I tell, and every stage I stand on comes back to one mission: to honor God, love people, and contribute to society in a way that leaves others stronger, healthier, and more hopeful than before.
